Despite my intimidation, things went smoother than expected. Dr. Remke and the staffs reasurances put me at ease, especially once the sedation process started. OTC meds have been adequate to deal with after surgery discomfort and lessens every day. I would highly recommend Rochester Hills Oral Surgery and have encouraged my regular dentist to add them to his referral list. Certainly worth some extra travel for such professional and satisfying care.

Today I took my teenaged daughter for a CONSULTATION regarding her wisdom teeth at the recommendation of our dentist. There was never any intent to have the procedure done today. Dr. Renke had clearly assumed we intended to go forward as he spent the entire consultation explaining the procedure, including his practice of prescribing norcos for every patient. I asked him what about my daughter's teeth led him to believe the surgery was necessary. He literally stared blankly at me for a few seconds before saying, "it's better to do it now than wait until she's older." I asked my daughter, who politely declined. Dr. Renke immediately left the room, and we could hear him greeting another patient in the next room. As we were leaving the parking lot, my wife texted. She was concerned that the surgery was happening right then because the pharmacy notified her that this office had called in a prescription for norcos. I went back into the office to correct their error. The receptionist called up the assistant who had taken us back to the examination room. She was defiant. She said that SHE had called in the prescription while the doctor was in with us (so, consent or the doctor's oversight was physically impossible), but HE had cancelled it (unsure how that could have happened as we heard him go immediately to the next patient without speaking with her). It wasn't until much later that the pharmacy notified us of the cancellation. Norcos and overprescribing is a major problem in this country. Please don't support a business that so callously disregards that or is so defiant to admit a mistake.
